Help Center
Searchable help for Getting Started, Billing, Tasks & Projects, Account & Security, and Cancellations. Project work stays with your PM — everything else lands here.
Getting Started
- How does it work after I pay?
Payment activates your plan immediately. Your Project Manager reaches out over chat to scope your first task within minutes. Once you confirm the checklist, work begins right away — see “When does work actually start after I submit a task?” for the full timeline.
- Why is there no phone/video call?
Cloudesk is chat-first on purpose: you get a complete written record, faster turnaround, and no scheduling friction. Monthly plans can schedule a PM-only live screen-share when you want it — that exception is logged. There are no specialist calls and no private client↔Coder channels.
Billing
- How is pricing calculated?
Open the Pricing calculator on cloudesk.work: pick role(s), level, skill tags, Weekly or Monthly commitment, and optional Quality Runner. You see intro rate beside standard rate, plus permanent bundle discounts (10% / 15% / 20%) when you combine services. One intro window applies per client account, ever — cancelling and resubscribing does not re-grant it.
- What does a Quality Runner cost?
It’s an optional add-on priced by commitment: on a Weekly plan it’s $100/week while active; on a Monthly plan it’s $400/month, discounted 30% to $280/month — with your first month free, then $280/month if you continue. Add it at signup on Pricing or later by asking your Project Manager; you can drop it without affecting your plan.
Tasks & Projects
- When does work actually start after I submit a task?
Your Project Manager scopes the request with you over chat, you confirm the checklist, and your PM gives you the time estimate. Your Project starts immediately and is already in the queue — typically within the same day on an active plan.
- Who actually does the work?
Your dedicated Project Manager coordinates a skilled execution team on our side, using modern development tools and practices to work efficiently, with every deliverable quality-checked before it reaches you. The specialists assigned to your account are in your chat alongside your PM, so you can ask them directly — they appear as “Coder A” and “Quality Runner” rather than by name.
- What if I don’t like what’s delivered?
You can request a revision — a configurable number are included per Project; beyond that, a revision becomes a new mini-Project with its own checklist and estimate. If something still feels wrong, raise a dispute: your PM reviews within 24 hours, an independent second PM can review, and unresolved cases reach the founder. Every outcome is logged.
- Is my work tested before I get it?
Yes, always, at no extra cost. Every project goes through Baseline QC: the person who built it verifies it against our Universal QC Checklist — it runs without errors, nothing is broken, no credentials or keys are left in the code, it’s checked on mobile where relevant, and a short setup note ships with the delivery. Baseline QC is included on every project and is never skipped or sold as an extra.
- What is a Quality Runner?
A Quality Runner is a dedicated second person whose only job on your project is quality. Where Baseline QC confirms the work does what the checklist said, a Quality Runner goes deeper: edge cases and unusual inputs, cross-device and cross-browser checks, full click-through manual testing of every flow, and a regression pass after revisions. Findings go back through your Project Manager and are fixed before the work reaches you.
- Do I need a Quality Runner if QC is already included?
No. Baseline QC is included free on every project and covers the standard checks, so a Quality Runner is entirely optional. It’s worth adding when the work is larger or higher-risk — a checkout flow, a multi-screen app, anything that has to behave correctly on many devices — where a second pair of eyes testing exhaustively is genuinely valuable. A Quality Runner is always in addition to Baseline QC, never a replacement for it.
Account & Security
- Is my data and code secure?
Yes. Code lives in a company-controlled, access-logged repository. Every team member’s account requires two-factor authentication. Payment details are never stored on Cloudesk servers — when a licensed, PCI-compliant payment gateway is connected, card and bank details stay with that provider. Your data follows our retention policy (delivered files typically retained 90 days; billing records longer).
Cancellations
- Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can pause or cancel a single Project (actual logged time is deducted; paused time is held and deducted once on delivery), or cancel the whole subscription. Subscription refunds follow tiered hours-used rules: roughly 0–30% of cycle hours used → 70% refund; 30–50% → 50%; above 50% → no refund. Pausing the subscription is the retention alternative when you need a break without ending the plan.
